Estate - Bertoia Chairs

Haven't had a chance to photo my finds except for these four wire chrome Bertoia chairs. Originally, designed in 1952 for Knoll by Italy's Harry Bertoia. I'd say these were really popular 5-10 years ago, mine are dated 2001. While they were not the Design Within Reach (really?) $540 plus another $130+ for the seat pad maybe I a paid a decent price. Not a steal or a dealer would have snatched them up, right?
Think, I'll put them around the family room table. Course, I'll have to sell the chairs currently residing there. Oh la, my chair fetish.

Thift Score! Moller Chairs & "Pomona" Jam Pot

At my old biddy store found two more graphic "Electrical Towers" glasses (set of four now.) Pair bright red enameled wood Swedish Christmas candle holders. Modern White Ceramic Horse with missing teak toothpicks. 1950-60's Japan. One of the biddies was trying to tell me it was a coin bank-for what 8 cents?

Pair white ceramic double handled "Urn Servers," maybe for jam? Marked "Bavaria" For Sale in my Etsy store.

Third jam pot in two weeks? "Pomona Series" jar designed by Ulla Procope´s. Pattern by Raija Uosikkinen (or Esteri Tomula)  "Omena" (Apple) though, I believe, it's a Crabapple. Stamped "Arabia Finland 1961"

White Ceramic Lotus Bowl. Marked "Japan" 1960's.

Yellow Wall Shelf with plastic jars. Never used. Stamped "Hong Kong" 1980's. SOLD

Good Karma pays off! If I hadn't dropped off donations at the rear of my fave thrift store I would have never seen these! Four "No. 77" Teak Chairs designed by Niels Otto Møller in 1959. Made in Denmark. The original oatmeal wool seats need to be reupholstered. Still made today they will run you around $800 each. Got all four for the unbelievable price of $10! Best score yet!

Also found, four cup & saucers by "Thomas, Germany" (owned by Rosanthal now.) They are light & delicate. I like the braid wrapping around the bottom. 1980's judging the mark. Oops, one of the cups is cracked. I didn't get the egg cups as I thought they were overpriced & in the candle section, ha ha."Thomas" made some super cool mod 60's designs too! For Sale in my Etsy store

Ceramic "County Fair" by JBC Trivet (one way it's an apple, flip 180 degrees it's a daisy. Stamped "Japan" Prob. 1970's.

SOLD Estate: Oak Daybed & Rosewood Dining Table

Scan Teak Highboy
This was a good estate sale found by my mom. Bought everything on the last day for 50% off. 1970's Oak Convertible Daybed. Original gold flecked upholstery. Made double on it but wasn't worth the work & it took up a lot of room. It's now on it's way to a Rehobeth beach house.

1970-80's Rosewood Dining Table with two leaves. Clean lines. This sold quickly but I had to deliver it. Can't complain because I made a generous profit.

Danish late 1970's teak drawers with key lock on every drawer. I thought it was really cool but it was low quality, difficult to sell & just managed to make double.

Teak framed lithograph, trio rosewood nesting tables (that dad is supposed to reglue.) I picked up a orange juice squeezer, a few books & a mini ice cream maker. Hubby bought a lot of jars, books, a neat Captains box & assorted junk.

Estate: Wall Unit & Walnut Lamp

"Uldum Mobelfabrik 7171"

This was the estate of a builder. The husband had modern taste the wife did not so all the cool stuff was in his office! Went with my mom on the first day - wasn't too crowded. Saw a fantastic pair of mint condition chrome scissors lamps, ones that come off the wall. $30 for both & I balked! Looked them up at more and they were 1970's designer around $500 each! I'll see if I can find a reference photo to post. I did buy a danish teak captain's dining chair. Very sturdy & just needed oiling.

Returned on the last day when everything was 50% off. Since I purchased so many things the sellers gave me more than 50% off. I bought a huge 3 bay wall unit of not great quality (two bays shown above.) Paid to much for it. Was one I should have run away from. For some reason I'm drawn to wall units but they are difficult for me to sell. This one took ages to get rid of & it was bid down really low. SOLD

Also got 2 Italian marble lamps. One has a chip & needs repair (photo to come.) Pair brass bookends (photo to come)

1960's Wire LP/Table which I have since donated.

Sold a 1960's Walnut Lamp & Table & Molded Magazine Rack. Linen shade included. Water rings to table top. SOLD

Koford Teak Credenza
Made in Denmark. Sold Feb. 2010. Sellers remorse. Paid a lot for this at an auction.

Sold: Randers Wall Unit

"Hanging Wall Cabinet" 1960's Randers of Denmark
On occasion I sell furniture. Here is a piece I bought at auction for $30 (with the Koford credenza) & later sold. for I think $130. Thought my husband could display his Civil War relics. Turned out it wasn't quite what he was looking for so I put it up on CraigsList. It went home with a college student. I have buyers remorse. Probably part of a larger wall unit. SOLD

Sold: Plycraft Lounge Chair with Ottoman

Plycraft Lounge Chair with Ottoman
George Mulhauser designed this American made walnut veneer molded plywood lounger. Foil label dated 1965. Bought for $36. Sold Sept. 2009. Bought this lounger along with the Adrian Pearsall dining set of the best estate sales I've ever been too. There was so much stuff I didn't get & I wish I had. Two modern globe chandeliers, two sellers cabinets with matching tables & chairs, pair Dansk iron star candle holders, thin taper candles, vintage yellow clock, brass wall spotlight, ect.

1950-60's three section bright yellow cabinets with interesting chrome pulls. Had the coolest chromed loop handles. Note to self - don't buy old cabinets. Think I made 15 bucks for lugging these on my back, cleaning them, & all other costs. I think, it sold quickly because it was listed on Apartment Therapy. In some guys garage now.
