My sis is in from Dublin so we went to the thrift store. Found a chipped Kaj Franck Origami K F 2 plate. It was unmarked and is possibly a knock-off but at 50 cents I'll keep it for a while. In addition, I found an original Taylor & Ng whale mug and a pair of blue enamel Turkish pots. My sister found a cute little colorful plastic organizer made in Italy and a set of six NOS green melamine fondue plates made in Japan. Wasn't expecting to find anything today so we were pleased.

Forgot to take a shot of the 1970s red Coleman cooler we picked up, its in slightly better condition than the one pictured below (sorry borrowed the image from Ebay) We were surprisd to see they are worth some decent coinage on Ebay.
Lucked out today finding three iron Dansk candleholders and a small Danish red wood candleholder. I should not have bought the five glass candleholders but I find Dansk so rarely.

After more than a week off I ventured to the thrifts today. Finds mights be getting lean now that the Christmas season is taking off and yes, it gets earlier every year as I often talk to retailers about this.

Found a Bull Taylor & Ng mug (really should have started collecting them years ago instead of selling them) A sail boat mug from Kilkenney Ireland for the sis - nautical and horse racing crap seems to be popular there in addition to those ugly little fascinator hats (not all fascinators are ugly just ones by the endless slew of horrible Irish hat designers) And last an unicorn mug by Audrey Christie (found the cuteness rabbit mug by her too)

That's it. Chow. A few things my mom gathered for me. A letter file in orange, yum. Pair a Italian Christmas votives. A Dansk cheese board and a medium sized Arabia Finland planter by Richard Lindh. I have 4 or 5 of them now and should decide if I'll going to use them of sell them. Thanks mom!MisterTruehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10145765375240266557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4784467471516382751.post-24809412638730028792013-09-22T14:58:00.000-07:002013-09-28T15:55:51.541-07:00Gift From Dublin - Erik Hoglund

Mom found this little Erik Hoglund ashtray for me in Dublin vintage shop. It still
has its paper Boda Sweden label. You'll see it matches my Hoglund glass
cat jar. It joins my pitiful Erik Hoglund collection of three (opps, forgot the two sets of candleholders). Thanks
Mom!

Thrifts seem to be picking up in other words they don't seem to be so sucky. Todays finds are an un-used Dansk carafe SOLD, a second Migraines Gary Larson mug and four vintage house tins (one no shown). A Swedish Dala that has had its face shaved off SOLD. Passed on the USSR era globe as it had a bit of sun fading and I detest packing them.

Paid a pretty penny for this woodblock print by Hansen Bahia but loved the colors but the plans are to hang it on a wall. The second appears to be a large painted illustration from the teens or 1920s that I have no info on?
Picked up a few things today. Teak Dansk paddle board SOLD and a Danish teak board. Swiss Reuge music box of a Moulin Rouge CanCan Dancer on top of a second Reuge gold music box SOLD. Two Glasbake soup bowls (I'm always a sucker for these!) SOLD. A Town & Country Pyrex casserole dish with a minty lid.

And weeks later found the base to a Swedish Hans Agne Jakobsson glass lantern after I gave the top to BitofButter see below. I swear I looked high and low for the base. Damn it!

Look what I found! Three Lagardo Tackett kitchen jars. Would love to keep but sadly they have to be sold. On top them sits a wood Pinocchio.

Four mugs hee hee. Arabia Anemone bowl by Ulla Procope that was expensive but I think I'm selling it. And a trio of kitshy porcelain fawns made in Japan.

Some tourist prints and a Dansk Kobenstyle paella pan that I usually stay away from but this one was in excellent shape.
My trade with Jenny from The Creekhouse yielded this tiny Swedish wood Tomte with swinging pail. Isn't Jenny's business card sweet too. Mrs. Gnome has being added to my little family.

Today was a good day and yellow themed! First time I've ever found Vera tea towels thrifting. Three of them unused with the tags! I'll have them listed soon or inquire through my Etsy shop if you are interested. Love the kitschiness of Joan Walsh Anglund - little box of illustrated plates for framing - perfect baby room decor.

Below a pair of tins. Two boxes of Dansk tiny tapers, pair of Campbells soups mugs and yes that's another Boynton mug you see, don't hate. And a mirror with a huge yellow plastic frame, unmarked hope it's not old Ikea. Sigh, Vera makes me happy!

Stayed local and went to what was listed as an Antique Dealers sale. Which means getting rid of things that are broken or haven't sold. Basically a dealers flea market in a house. Prices were retail from what I could tell but people were buying, a lot of them dealers. Lots of vintage toys something I haven't any knowledge about so I stayed away. They had a huge junk table loaded with broken bits and broken jewelery for $5 each - umm right!

Saw a lot of German paper Easter items ect in peoples arms but the prices scared me.

Picked up three tins, a tiny rabbit, another partial Russian nesting doll and a egg menagerie for the mom-in-law. On my final walk through noticed an iittala Flora bowl holding a bunch of crappy Disney toys. So I'm happy with that find but it was not exactly a raving success when calculating out gas and time.MisterTruehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10145765375240266557noreply@blogger.com1
